Job Summary:
Black Girls Who Math (BGWM) is the nonprofit arm of Saint Tutoring LLC. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Data Analytics Teacher to lead a 3-week summer course for high school students. This program aims to introduce students to fundamental data analytics concepts while fostering creativity and data-driven storytelling. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analytics and a genuine passion for working with youth.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach foundational data analytics skills (data collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualization)

Guide students through individual projects, integrating data storytelling techniques

Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment

Encourage creativity and critical thinking in data exploration

Assist students with project development, including brainstorming and presentation skills

Provide constructive feedback and mentorship
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree (STEM field preferred such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, but other disciplines welcome to apply)

Proven experience in data analytics and data visualization

Previous experience teaching or mentoring high school students is highly desirable

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt lessons to diverse interests

Commitment to empowering young women in STEM
Preferred Skills:

Data analytics: 1+ year (Preferred)

Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau)

Creative approach to integrating data with storytelling

Ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds

Important details/expectations:

Summer Location: Instruction will be held at Miami Dade College Eduardo Padron Campus (must be able to commute to the location/have reliable transportation).

Compensation/time commitment: $30-$35/hr. The exact rate will depend on the level of education and experience. There may be a few paid workshops/team training and meetings throughout the summer. For the summer July 7-July 26: Instructor should be available Mon-Thurs from 12:30-2PM.

If selected as an instructor you must be able to show proof of education/experience (via academic transcripts/certifications, works experience, and/or reference checks).

Start date: July 7, 2025. Some virtual meetings may be held prior to start date to ensure preparation for summer program.
