About Scholarship
Why?
The She MATHS Scholarship was created to support and uplift Black women and girls as they pursue their academic journeys in mathematics and STEM-related fields. Aligned with our mission to foster academic excellence, sisterhood, and innovation, this scholarship aims to ease financial barriers and empower the next generation of leaders to thrive and make a lasting impact in their communities.
Award amounts/selection

(1) award of $500 to a current high school student

(1) award of $500 to a current undergraduate student

Eligibility Criteria
High School Students
Applicants must:
-
Identify as Black or African American young woman.

Currently be enrolled in high school as a senior (class of 2025).

Receive acceptance and plan to enroll full time in a 2- or 4-year college/university in the U.S.

Intend to purse/declare a major in a STEM discipline (verification will be needed once you are enrolled at the college or university).

Have at least a 3.0 unweighted GPA (on a 4.0 scale).

Attend a high school located in Miami-Dade or Broward County
College Students
Applicants must:

Identify as Black or African American woman.

Currently be enrolled full time at a 2-or 4-year college/university in the U.S. in an undergraduate program as a freshman, sophomore, or junior during the application cycle (this means you will graduate Spring 2026 or later).

Be majoring in a STEM discipline.

Have at least a 3.0 Cumulative GPA
Application Components
The application will require the following:

General information about the applicant (name, school information, household income, etc.)

Short essay question (answered in 300-500 words)

Write an essay that addresses the following questions: What inspired your interest in your field? What are your career goals how do you plan to use the knowledge you acquire to make a positive impact in your community or the world?
