About She MATHS

​She MATHS is a Miami-based nonprofit building a STEM pipeline for Black women and girls. We run programming that equips our scholars with skills in STEM and also provide professional development. We move fast, we care deeply, and we need people on our team who are just as mission-driven as we are.

About the Role

​We're looking for a creative, driven Marketing Assistant to help She MATHS show up consistently and powerfully across social media. This isn't just a role for someone who can post online— we want someone who thinks strategically about our brand, gets excited about reaching the next generation of Black girls in STEM, and knows how to make content that stops the scroll.

​

You'll work closely with our Executive Director and Communications Committee to manage our content calendar, create Reels and graphics, brainstorm recruitment, fundraising, and programming campaigns, and keep our community engaged year-round. This is a part-time paid position requiring 3–7 hours per week, with increased content output during July when we host our summer program.

What You'll Do

Social Media Management

  • Manage and maintain content calendars for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Facebook

  • Post a minimum of 2–3 times per week during the off-season and 4+ times per week during July (summer program month)

  • Create on-brand graphics using Canva and short-form video content (Reels, TikToks) that reflect the She MATHS voice

  • Monitor comments, DMs, and engagement — respond or flag to the Executive Director as appropriate

  • Track monthly analytics (reach, engagement, follower growth) and share a brief report

Recruitment & Campaign Strategy

  • Brainstorm and pitch innovative recruitment campaign ideas to attract new girls to our program during the school year

  • Develop seasonal content around key recruitment windows (back to school, spring application season, scholarship app opening, etc.)

  • Support outreach efforts that connect She MATHS to schools, community organizations, and families

Communications Committee Support

  • Collaborate with the She MATHS comms team on campaigns, newsletters, and announcements

  • Assist with drafting copy for emails, flyers, and partner-facing communications

  • Attend biweekly in-person team meetings and contribute creative ideas

What We're Looking For

  • Strong proficiency in Canva — you know how to make things look good fast

  • Experience creating Reels and TikTok content — you understand pacing, hooks, and trends

  • A creative eye and a genuine feel for social media storytelling

  • Organized and self-directed — you can manage a content calendar without being chased

  • Strong written communication skills with an ability to match a brand voice

  • Based in the Miami area and available to meet in person every two weeks

  • Passion for equity in STEM and authentic alignment with the She MATHS mission

  • Experience with nonprofit or community-based organizations is a plus

  • Portfolio Credit — Be credited as Marketing Assistant on published She MATHS content — real work for a real portfolio.

  • Flexible Schedule — Work on your own time (aside from scheduled weekly 1-1 meeting) as long as content is delivered on schedule.
