About Our Partner
Splendour Community Initiative Limited

Splendour Community Initiative (SCIL) is a dedicated NGO based in Kamuli District, Uganda, committed to uplifting and empowering local communities. From providing education for underprivileged children and ensuring access to clean water, to promoting health, food security, and environmental sustainability, Splendour tackles the challenges facing their community head-on.

Their programs also focus on women’s empowerment, offering skills training in tailoring, crafts, and farming to strengthen families and boost incomes. By working closely with community members, school leaders, and local organizations, Splendour creates lasting change—building safe, supportive spaces where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Reflection & Direction

During the 2025 year,  She MATHS and Splendour worked closely with school leaders, teachers, and community members to design the pilot and align goals with local priorities. This phase focused on relationship-building, curriculum planning, and preparing for program launch.

February marks the official launch of the pilot, beginning with professional development for teachers, our first cultural exchange, and hands-on math and science workshops with students.

Workshop Topics:

  • Scientific Inquiry & Experimental Design

  • Math Detectives

  • Cultural Exchange: Identity & Belonging

In March, students will explore technology and engineering through interactive workshops while continuing cultural exchange and mentorship experiences.

Workshop Topics:

  • Technology Literacy

  • Engineering Design Process

  • Cultural Exchange: Global Awareness

In April we will return to math and science, helping students strengthen problem-solving and systems thinking as they connect concepts across STEM fields.

Workshop Topics:

  • Math in Decision Making

  • Cause & Effect in Scientific Systems

  • Cultural Exchange: Dreaming Forward

Following the pilot, we will gather feedback through interviews, surveys, and program evaluations to understand what worked, what students experienced, and what the community found most valuable. These reflections will help guide the future direction of our programming and partnership.

Focus Areas: Student feedback • Program evaluation
