Reflecting on her undergraduate years, Taylor Samuel recognized a stark absence of Black educators and embraced a mission to rectify this disparity by shifting her major to mathematics during her sophomore year at Sacred Heart University. Seeking to acquire a comprehensive foundation in the field of education, Taylor pursued a master's degree in Math Education with a focus on STEM integration at Hofstra University. She served three years as a high school math teacher in Brooklyn, NY, specializing in Algebra I and Geometry, before advancing to the role of Math Department Chair. After several years dedicated to supporting student and educator growth, Taylor transitioned into the healthcare industry as a Learning and Organization Development Educator at Northwell Health. In this role, she brings her passion for learning and development to support teams who make a meaningful difference in communities every day. Outside of her professional pursuits, Taylor finds balance through an active lifestyle, engaging in fitness activities and immersing herself in the exhilarating atmospheres of concerts and sporting events.
